Nextrade CEO keynotes at ICC Banking Commission annual meetings

Nextrade CEO Kati Suominen keynoted panel "Disruptive Technologies and the Future of Trade" at the ICC Banking Commission's annual meeting in Miami. She argued that ecommerce, 3D printing, and blockchain will dramatically change the players, patterns and possibilities of world trade in the next decade, and usher in the most dynamic and inclusive wave of globalization yet. However, she also cautioned these gains are elusive if divergent national digital regulations, digital divides, and lack of interoperability among trade intermediaries persist and splinter the global digital economy.

Suominen called for the leading banks present to work together to educate policy makers about digital regulations that fuel trade, partner with aid agencies to accelerate the diffusion of new technologies, and work together to develop interoperability technologies and standards. See her PPT here.
